Georgia Internet Governance Forum(IGF) held an interim meeting and formed an youth forum (Youth IGF)
On September 20, 2022, the Georgia Internet Governance Forum (IGF) held an interim meeting. The meeting took place at the Pullman Hotel (Axis Towers) within the framework of the the Council of Europe project “Supporting Freedom of Media and Internet in Georgia”.
The meeting was attended by members of the IGF, representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee of the Parliament, the Personal Data Protection Service, the academic as well as the private sector.
At the event, the coordinator of the Georgian Internet Governance Forum, Ucha Seturi, presented the 2020-2021 report of the forum, the participants talked about issues related to the Internet, information networks, information security and the need for awareness-raising in these areas. At the same time, at the event, the parties discussed the date of the Georgia Internet Governance Forum and the details of the event.
It is important that within the framework of the meeting, the Georgia Youth Internet Management Forum was established, the governing bodies of the forum were defined and the founding document of the forum was signed. State institutions and private organizations, as well as the academic field representatives are among the founders of the Youth Forum, which will contribute to the dynamic work of the Forum and the encourage involvement of young people in the working process.
