Georgia will host the 8th Internet Governance Forum – GeoIGF 2022 from November 19-22, 2022. Within the framework of the event, the Youth Internet Governance Forum will be held in Georgia for the first time.
Event Partners: The event is coordinated by the Association of Small and Medium Telecommunications Operators (TOA), hosted by the Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, the Georgian National Communications Commission, and the Internet Society – Georgia (ISOC Georgia). The Georgian office of the Council of Europe provides institutional support for the event.
The aim of the forum: The aim of the forum is to promote dialogue on issues surrounding the Internet, information security, and communications, and to encourage youth participation in the decision-making process.
📌 Within the framework of the forum, panel discussions will be held on the following topics: artificial intelligence, its opportunities and challenges; disinformation in the Internet space of Georgia; and the future of artificial intelligence; broadband Georgia – current situation and obstacles, prospects for the growth of a digital hub in Georgia; An open telecom market and prospects for mobile virtual network operator entry; Preparation for 5G and the role of introducing new technologies in the nation’s growth; quality of Internet; growth of community online networks; self-regulation of internet content The Georgian language on the Internet; cyber security and digital rights Personal data protection and pandemic-inspired innovation Digital literacy and preparedness, as well as the participation of several sectors in this process; Virtual mobile operation development difficulties, among others.
